YWAM Kona's Communications Dept. is sponsoring a two part web design seminar featuring hands on training with professional designers who created UofNkona.edu , photogenx.net , the new ywam.org and more. If you can create word docs and handle facebook then you can create and update your own webpage.

Beginners "plus" Webdesign Seminar on Thursday Oct. 29th will cover:

• setting up a basic news / blog style site
• wordpress - the world's easiest (and free) content management system
• inserting photos, videos and formatting text into articles on your wordpress webpage
• using your webpage to send e-newsletters for support raising
• photo animations and youtube videos & more

The Intermediate Webdesign Seminar on Friday Oct. 30th will cover:

• creating a full-featured, dynamic website based on one of the best and most powerful Content Management Systems available: Joomla ( same technology as on uofnkona.edu )
• use of photoshop for creating custom graphics and resizing images for the web
• concepts for improved integration of video, photo galleries and flash elements
• search engine optimization strategies (don't fake it - make a good site that Google will love!)
• learn to make updates for your department or school on the UofNkona.edu website
• support raising tools - paypal integration with UofN Financial Services backed tax receipts for your donors
• adding pages and articles to your website & editing layout

We will have open Q&A times after the training seminars (2:15 pm) for those who'd like to hang out and talk shop... or if there are people who are interested in design and can't make it for the seminars.

Please bring your wifi ready laptop if you have one (mac or pc) and be sure to install the latest version of firefox. If you don't have a laptop, contact us at least 24 hours prior and we can arrange for an imac or mac mini to be available for you.

$25 suggested donation for each day you attend the seminar (payable in cash or checks made out to "UofN").
